Santa Ana, CA venue guide
Check the The Observatory bag policy with an official source, then plan your entrances, parking, and dining in Santa Ana, CA. Confirm event-specific entry rules before you go.
Bag policy
The Observatory's official Visit page covers medication and coat-check rules but lists no bag size limit for indoor shows in The Observatory or the Constellation Room. The separate Observatory Festival Grounds publishes a 12 x 6 x 12 inch clear bag limit for its outdoor events only.
Entrances
Coat check and lockers cost $10 and are just outside the main entrance, and the box office opens only on show day, about one hour before doors. The accessibility page says the main room is entered at the front door by an accessible ramp, while the Constellation Room uses the front entrance. Fast Lane guests may use the patio one hour before doors, but that does not let them into the main room early.

The indoor rooms are general-admission standing, with an ADA section for guests who qualify. The venue asks them to buy accessible tickets when those are offered and to check in with staff on arrival; if a show has none, staff will try to accommodate a general-admission buyer. The main room is reached by a ramp at the front door, the Constellation Room is entered at the front and described as meeting ADA guidelines throughout, and sign-language interpretation is by email request at least two weeks ahead.
